I don't have any JW friends (my dad and brother are on my fb though...probably spy reasons, but go ahead, spy away!) on my facebook, but I do have a lot of Mormon friends. Idk that I can call any of them "friends". I have unfriended most of them, and receieved messages from them asking why I deleted them and that it hurt their feelings (they were never on, never posted, and we never talked!). But it was nice to be able to feel ok posting pictures of my cooking and not have to angle the camera right to hide the coffee pot or my sweet tea. Definitely good therapy. :)

Un-friending JW Facebook Friends-Therapy
by nicsfreedom init may sound harsh but i am finding it therapeutic to unfriend my jw friends today on facebook.
i just can't live in the past anymore.
so sick of the drama, spying and having to pretend to be something i am not.

I think that's a HUGE part of my inability to focus. Even while watching a movie, I have to get up and clean or crochet, or something other than just watch a damn movie. I would zone out and start imagining doing other things or have little pretend conversations with friends in my head, like playing situations out. I would doodle all over my notes. It is ridiculous. I literally can't focus. Even right now, I'm eating lunch and watching Looney Tunes with my kids. Lol. And then, during a meeting/assembly/convention, if a child does make a noise, everyone gives dirty looks to the parents and makes them feel so uneasy. We only made it to a handful of meetings and one convention when our first child was born. It was uncomfortable! I had a newborn who wanted to nurse. God forbid anyone make it encouraging for a new mother, no I had to go in the nursing room in the dark. If we had to get up, everyone would watch us walk back, no matter where we sat. I guess it's discouraged to have kids anyways, in these "last days". I remember my grandma telling me how her mother was shunned and look down upon for getting pregnant in the 1930's. So sad.

I toss everything I find (generally during our "spring cleaning" aka wild hair up my butt to clean everything top to bottom). I go through our rubbermaid bins that store personal belongings in and toss everything. how do they reproduce?? I have tossed things out 3 times in 2 years! Like HUGE amounts of books, magazines, tracts, notes, etc. Good grief! Feels good though, and it makes room for more things to save from our daughters :)

Question for Elders... Will Refusing to meet with Elders - Avoid Disfellowshipping?
by rrb2016 indoes anyone know if this strategy will work to avoid being disfellowshipped?
if one moves their card from one hall to another before a "wrongdoing" becomes public - and then refuses to meet with the elders at the new hall - will they simply be able to fade away without being disfellowshipped.
i had heard that if you refuse to meet with the elders, they generally will not df you - in order to avoid possible legal issues.

I was DF'd because I coudln't meet with the elders 2000 miles away... I told them that I wanted to be anyways, so it was kind of a mutual thing> I was reinstated though, and my file was sent to the state I'm in now. I moved shortly after my papers arrived, and somehow they were "lost". I became "inactive" and then moved 2 more times after that, no one knows where I am, no one knows me in this state (that's a JW), so I'm probably just "inactive" now. But if they know where you live and you just blatantly ignore them, they can DF you without a JC meeting. As far as I know from my Elder dad and P.O. grandfather.

JWs and Earthquakes
by okage inyesterday, my wife's sister shared on facebook a screen capture of people talking about the earthquake in china.
the top of the list was a twitter user saying "is it just me or are these 5.0+ quakes coming more frequently" (paraphrasing).
her response "people are finally seeing what's coming" (not paraphrasing).. initially, this pissed me off because there is no increase in earthquakes.

You know, that's what Satan wants you to believe. Don't you know you're supposed to trust the F&DS/GB and they say it's all getting worse. Geez, c'mon! Don't argue with God's spokesmen! It's the last days, it will be here any day now. How dare you try to use geological surveys and documented facts against their word!

fun fact: sing out loud to any parent of small kids, "who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
" and observe the automatic response.
